About us
I never set out to become a writer. There was just something inside me that wouldn’t stay quiet — a story that needed to be told.
My name is Faye Lawrence. I’m originally from Hungary, now living in Dublin. My writing journey began with a blog — recipes, photography, tech. But while writing my first cookbook, Cooking with Heart and Code, something shifted. Stories started pouring in. Not culinary ones — real, imagined ones.
And I haven’t been able to stop since.
Everything you see here is created by me — the writing, the illustrations, the editing, the videos, the web content. No team, no agency. Just me, and the worlds that won’t let go of me until I bring them to life.
This is who I am.
2. About the Books – Tales, Recipes & Worldbuilding
It all started with a cookbook. Then came the stories. Next, the novel. I never planned to write in “multiple genres” — it just happened. One thing led to another, and now I’m building entire worlds.
My children’s books aren’t just “cute illustrated stories.” Each one builds a self-contained universe, with characters, backstory, emotional depth — and just enough magic. They speak to kids without talking down to them, and they always leave a little something for grown-ups too.
The cookbook (Cooking with Heart and Code) is something else entirely. It’s about finding the balance between precision and passion — how code and cooking both come from the same place: a need to create something that works, and matters.
The novel is still in progress. A new world again. But born from the same obsession: storytelling.
3. Mini-Tales & Bonus Content
Every main book comes with a free “prequel mini-book.” Downloadable, printable, colorable. But they’re more than just extras.
These mini-books expand the world. They offer glimpses into a character’s past, the history of a location, or something that shaped the story to come. They deepen the lore and give readers — especially young ones — more ways to connect.
And the visuals don’t stay still either. I animate the illustrations into short videos — about 5 seconds per image — with narration and music. They’re tiny stories of their own. Not just something to watch, but something to feel.
4. What This Site Is – Vision & Purpose
This isn’t just a collection of books.
This is a space for those who believe in the power of stories. For those who love getting lost in details, in worlds that feel real enough to step into — whether through a fairy tale or a recipe.
Through blog posts, I’ll be sharing the creative process behind each book — from sketches to final animations. There’ll be downloadable content, interactive extras, and whatever else these worlds demand.
This site is a beginning. And if you’ve found your way here, you’re already a part of it.
