Tips for coloring your cozy Christmas pages
These pages have more detail than our Bold & Easy designs, so they are perfect for a slow, relaxing session. A few ideas to help you enjoy them:
- Use slightly heavier paper. Matte cardstock or thicker printer paper holds colored pencil and marker beautifully.
- Choose a classic Christmas palette. Try cranberry red, pine green, warm gold and gingerbread brown, and leave plenty of white for the snow.
- Make the lights twinkle. Color each bulb a different shade and leave a tiny white dot on top, so they look like they are glowing.
- Warm up the fireplace. Blend yellow into orange and red for the flames, then add a soft orange glow on the rug and the armchair.
- Take your time. There is no right or wrong way to color, so make each scene your own.
Once you are finished, your pages make sweet little holiday decorations: frame them, hang them by the tree or tuck them into a Christmas card for someone special.
